New phone

I want a new mobile phone. I had a HTC a few years ago. I loved it. And I still use it - not as a phone, but kinda like an PDA. I read fanfiction on it and I love the Outlook calendar on it. But I didn't really like it as an phone. The "voice quality" (???) was not good. So I got a new phone 2 years ago, that was just that. A simple and easy Nokia. It's good as a phone, but nothing else. I don't like the handling of the Nokia system at all.

So, now I want a new phone. And I want a really fancy touch-screen-system with lots and lots of possibilities ;). I want a good camera, I want to use the internet with it, I need GPS (Geo caching!!!), I want to use it as a calendar and so on.
And now I have a problem: what operating system? I don't want an IPhone. Android sound good, but I need a Google account to sync the calendar, contacts etc. with it. And I really really don't want that. I don't want to give my data to Google at all. It might be very easy to use, but I don't trust them at all. Nokia's Symbion - as I said, I don't like it at all. WebOS needs a constant Internet connection. That's really not what I want. And now we are back to Windows Mobile. It's not comfortable to use. But I can sync the phone with my PC offline. I don't need to store my data somewhere in the internet. And HTC has it's own really nice looking GUI for it.

But the HTC-phone has a camera that's not really good. And it's really expensive - more than 500 Euros. So now I really don't know what to do. Am I geeky enough to spend that much money on a phone???? ;)

And did I mention that I want the phone NOW! Whenever I start reading about new and exciting new gadgets and stuff I usually want it NOW! Like a kid with a new toy ;).

I'm thinking about getting an eReader. I hate to read fan fiction at the computer. Right now I copy all the stories to my PDA/Phone. But the display is rather small. And I need a new phone. But the one I have now is good for a lot of things, but not for actually talking. And I really would love one of those cute little phones. But on the other hand I need something to read the stories on.
So now I'm thinking about getting a eReader. But there are some problems: they are not even available here (who would have thought that? Not me!) and even if they were - they are soo expensive. The cheapest I found is still 300$!
Has somebody of you one? Are they so good that I should spent so much money for it?
